Case Study - Intensive Support

We can communicate with services users at their level.

A man who was working as a bodyguard for a local drug (narcotics) dealer, was constantly in and out of prison for many years because of being ‘loyal’ to his boss and taking the blame for various illegal activities. Ultimately, he ended up consuming drugs (narcotics) himself and hit an all time low when his boss fled the country taking with him any money and leaving this young man without any means to support his habit.

Due to various factors, subsequently, he spent 14 years in prison, followed by a further 14 years in a psychiatric unit. Because of his forensic history, it was not possible to place him in a residential home.

Following an assessment by Comfort Care, however, the company agreed to house him and he has now been happily residing with Comfort Care for four years.

During this time he has acquired competence across daily living skills, social skills and employment and educational skills to such an extent that he is now waiting to be moved into his own flat where he will be able to live independently in the community at last.
